Own: Friday Faves

It's been a few weeks, but I haven't stopped online window shopping!  I hate when life gets in the way of sharing my shopping finds with you.

Anyway!  I'm exactly a month out from my upcoming trip to Japan so I've really got to stop shopping in the US so I can blow all my money in Japan which means that my window shopping is at an all time high.  Here are my faves this week!

At a recent dinner at Vinegar Hill House, Brooklyn, a super chic girl walked in carrying this very bag:

I loved it so much that I came home and immediately started to search for round leather bags with tassels.  It took me a while but I finally found it on none other than Zara.com!  And better yet- the bag is only $40.  Give it a nice home!

Another favorite that I have to tell you about is an adorable site called adornmonde.com that will fulfill all your dainty jewelry needs, but at a fraction of the cost since they are a fashion jewelry site.  Here's a pair of earrings that I can't stop thinking about:

So cute and pretty for just $42.  If it's your first time shopping on the site, they will also give you 25% off.

Last but not least, while I know it's totally not the season, I saw this bikini a while ago and am still totally in love with it.  While I won't be going anywhere soon where I can rock said bikini (nor am I in bikini shape) I thought I would but it out there for you.

I love the embellishment on it.  It's definitely not the most practical suit if you want to swim in it and the sequins are probably not going to stay on it forever...but hey, YOLO.

Happy Friday and have a great weekend!

Own! Vrai & Oro

You guys.  Time flies.  It's already been almost a year since I got married.  I'm stunned at how fast time has passed.  I know people say this all the time, but it really does feel like just yesterday that I was freaking out about getting everyone to our venue...

Anyway, that means it's almost time for our anniversary!  So, that's left me not just wondering what I should get him, but the more fun part- what I might be getting!  Might sound a little bratty, but whatever, this is my blog and I'll say what I want.  And while we're on the subject, I'll be the first to say that I think fine jewelry as a gift is always awesome.

Since I moved to NYC and started to develop my own sense of style, I've always loved really delicate jewelry and so it's no surprise that I love everything at Catbird, but there are certain pieces that I love that Catbird that I can't pay for because I fail to understand how a little chip of diamond in a ring suddenly makes it $300+.  Absurd.

Anyway, I recently discovered this brand called Vrai & Oro and the neat thing about them is that they don't have any storefronts so they don't have to pass that cost back to their customers.  What does that mean exactly?  Well, it just means that their stuff is cheaper!  The better news is that they don't slack in the adorable department and I love everything on their site and I WANT IT ALL.

But as these things go, I'll just have to show you my favorites.  Help me narrow down which one I should BUY (or maybe receive as an anniversary gift...!!)

I love the simplicity of these cute semi hoops.  I am always looking for jewelry that I can wear every day.  I'm not skilled enough with the styling of accessories to make things complicated, but these earrings are just different enough that if I had a day when I wanted to jazz up my earring game, these would be perfect.

I have a ton of tiny little rings both knuckle and normal that I wear almost every day and this would the perfect addition.  It fits the style of my existing rings, but has just enough bling to make things interesting.

I LOVE these triangle earrings.  I don't have much more to say about them, but I think they're just more unique because of their shape.  I think these might be my favorite.

And all of these items are really affordable when it comes to diamonds and gold.  Here's hoping that the gift fairy hears my prayers!

Ogle: Les Petits Joueurs

If you know me, you know I'm a total sucker for anything cute.  I can't help myself.  I go into a trance of squeals and eeps.  So it's probably no surprise to any of you that I LOVE Les Petits Joueurs.

I found out about them from following Eva Chen on Instagram (@evachen212).  She's got this signature pose which is her posing with her feet propped up in a car's backseat next to a fabulous purse and some sort of produce (usually from Fresh Direct).  She's featured a few of Les Petits Joueurs adorable creations and I was immediately in love.

Reading about them on their site, they're a pretty new brand that started really picking up over the last year and it's no surprise, but their inspiration is pop culture and Legos!

Of course I have to show you my favorites!

AREN'T THEY SO CUTE!?

These are definitely not bags that I would label as classics or must-haves, but they are definitely different and fun!  I'm inspired to be a little more dynamic with my fashion choices when I see these adorable bags.  Who knows...maybe someone will gift me one.  Though the more I look at them, the more I want to shell out the bucks for one...!

Own: Friday Faves

Fall has hit and it has hit hard.

This rain, this wind, this chill.  #icant.

But let's look on the bright side!  This now means that I can whip out all my cute fall jackets and sweaters.  Which brings me to today and my fave leather jacket right now.

If you're looking for a classic, tough-girl leather jacket, try this one from Sir.

I love a TON of things on the Sir. site.  Take a look yourself and tell me which looks are your favorites!!

Enjoy and have a great weekend!

OBSESS: Mansur Gavriel's Lady Bag

I wrote a post a little while ago about find the right laptop bag and I'm sad to report that I'm still on the hunt.

UNTIL TODAY.  I was stopped dead in my tracks by Mansur Gavriel.

But before I go into it, I have to say that people need to calm down about Mansur Gavriel.  I do LOVE their bags, but I struggle with the price of them because I feel like they're SUCH basic bags (which I'm torn about because their basic-ness is something I love about them).  While I admit that the design of the Mansur Gavriel bag far surpasses that of a Cuyana and Everlane, I just feel like the price gap is preventing me from pulling the trigger.

Ok, so now that we've taken that little detour, let's talk about the Lady Bag.

I'm totally in love with it.  I love the simplicity of its design and how chic and understated it is.  I get chills just looking at it.

I've now read a ton of articles on how to get this bag and it's unfortunately out of reach because it's SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE.

*SOBS*

This might be the first Mansur Gavriel bag that I would actually shell the dough out for just because it seems to be so great for work- something that I would carry every day.

A girl can dream...

Own: Friday Favorites

So, in effort to keep at this blogging thing more regularly, I'm going to start to post some Friday favorites!

I'm not going to lie- I spend a crazy amount of time perusing shopping and fashion sites and sometimes, the things that I find might not warrant a whole blog post, but they are a blip in my mind that need to be released.  Maybe these Friday posts will be as therapeutic for you as they are for me.

I've found (a little late to the game, I'll admit) that Instagram is an INSANELY EFFECTIVE way to find new designers.  Now that they've updated their "Discover" function, I've found so many cool designers and shops this way.  Talina Hermann is one of those.

Loving this vest.

I'll be traveling to Japan in December *angels rejoice* and I've been trying to decide whether I want to bring my fancy purses with me or not.  I generally don't like to travel with my nice bags because I don't want them to have to weather the arduous conditions of extra cold AC or to get scraped up against something really dirty or sharp.  I've been keeping my eye our for more affordable bags and found Smaak Amsterdam.

I love the simple, understated, and chic design of their Jodie bag coming in at around $300.

And also, I'm a lingerie freak and love showing off fun bras under sheer tops.  These bras by Mary Young are awesome.

Valerie Bra
Bra Top

So many more things that I'm coveting but I'll let this here for now.  :) Come back next Friday to see more new finds!  Have a great weekend!

OGLE: NY Fashion Week Favorites

It's upon us.

NYFW.

Dramaazzzz.  It's been crazy town here in the City, but the best part is that the streets are filled with the most beautiful people that have the most eclectic style.  I was feeling a little fashion fatigued myself lately (mostly due to girl brain and feeling fat...), but there have been some amazing shows that really have me feeling that fashion itch again.

Ryan Roche is a designer I fell in love with after the last NYFW.  Her wonderful piling-on of knits makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over.  Here are a few of my fav looks from his S/S 2016 show:

A collection that I totally fell in love with was Prabal Gurung.  So pretty and so feminine with really cool cut outs showing just little slivers of skin and I'm all about the sheer look.  I have always loved it and I still do.  Here are a few of my favorite looks:

AND SEAMS.  I've normally leaned towards designs that are singular in fabric construction but differentiated by their ability to create structure without looking hard and boring.  I can't believe I'm saying this, but Carolina Herrara might be my FAVORITE SHOW.  Something different is happening there and I LOVE IT.  Here are my favorites.

OMG SLAY.  SO AMAZING.  Stay tuned for my NYFW summary of trends that are coming!  So much more to review and talk about!!

OBSESS: Fall Shoe Favorites

The summer is fading.  No matter how much we wish it would stay, it's slipping away.  BUT that means it's time to pull out FALL FAVORITES.  Fall clothes are my favorite.  I love pulling out that fuzzy sweater and my skinny jeans.  I love breaking out the suede and cashmere!  And better yet, I love not having to cover it up with a bulky, puffer jacket.

Fall stuff has hit stores already and there are a few pairs of kicks that have been OBSESSED.  Let's start with the Aquazzura Christy flats.  If there's an IT shoe this season, these have got to be them.

I can't stop thinking about them.
It's taking over my life.
I can't sleep...though I can surprisingly still eat...

While I feel like they're starting to take over Instagram which means that they're almost on the brink of mainstream...but I still love them.  The pointed toe makes them feel a little more fashion forward, while the lace-up feels delicate and classic like a ballet slipper.  Be prepared to drop some dough- $675 for these beauties.

My favorite boot of all time has to be the Alexander Wang Sigrid Boot.  I bought these boots a few years ago and even today, after years of stretching them and trudging them through the salt-ridden snowy mush streets of NYC, they're still snuggly fit against my legs and I get compliments on them all the time.

These boots are a staple in the Alexander Wang shoe collection and will set you back about $1,050.  They are WORTH IT.  The day that mine finally die, I'll be re-upping.

I love black as much as the next girl, but I do realize that my wardrobe needs color sometimes.  Garance Doré recently shared these burgundy beauties by Jil Sander on her site and I'm loving them, too.

Coming in under $500, these are available now for $420.

Do you have any Obsessions for Fall that you're dying to get your hands on??  If so, tell me about them!  A girl can never have too many pairs of shoes....right???

Ogle: Alison Lou Jewelry

Every now and then I find something that is just so spectacular that I can't look away.  Recently, while poking around on Instagram, I ran into Alison Lou Jewelry.  The piece that pulled me in wasn't even that weird.  It was a really cute "Mrs." Ring.  I think she's kind of known for them.  They're adorable:

She does these rings in white, yellow, and rose gold and you can choose your initial and the stone.  Loved it.  Upon further investigation, it turns out that Alison Lou isn't really just about this sappy, just married, new initial flinging audience.  She's WAY more than that.

Enter into her world of emoji jewelry.  Beware that you can get sucked in quickly.  Her stuff is all super whimsical and hilarious.  Like this Sh!t ring.  I LOVE IT SO MUCH.  I CAN'T LOOK AWAY.

She does a lot with emotional smileys, I'm a big fan of the Smiley stud...

And this really cute Celebration bracelet!

Downside?  This stuff is expensive.  They're not timeless enough that I want to sink a couple thousand dollars into them, but I do think they're really amazing and really cute.  While I start to feel kind of cliché for liking the Mrs. rings, that's actually the one item that I would probably pay the price for.  What do you think?  Would you rock that Shit right?? :)

Own: Summer Whites You Can Destroy

I love the trend of wearing lots of white in the summer, but there are SO many ways to get completely dirty in NYC that I had avoided wearing white for so long.  From the random mystery drops of water in the subway to the dirty hands of strangers that you might come in contact with, just the idea of wearing white gave me anxiety.

The solution for me was to find cheap, white clothes!  That way, my heart would be broken when I inevitably discovered an unremovable stain in the back of my perfectly white blouse.

Here's my round up of wonderful whites that are definitely affordable and totally okay to destroy.

These two are from the Gap and I totally love them.  So affordable and simple.  You could wear them pretty much anywhere and because they're cotton, there's also no need to dry clean.

Here's a cute and simple top from H&M

Lastly, my picks from Zara.  So many things are on sale right now and there are so many more cute white items, but I thought it would be overwhelming to post them all.  I love a good pair of white fitted pants and the ones from Zara are only $40!

Obsess: Simple Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Bikinis

SUMMER IS HERE.  FINALLY!

If you've read some of my past posts, you know that I'm a lingerie addict and the next best thing to buying new lingerie is buying a new bikini.  I mean they're almost the same thing, right?

There have been a lot of new styles of bikinis this season and some of them have me scratching my head about what to do with those weird tan lines after a day on the beach.  A few suits out there will solve that problem!  They are so skimpy that you'll have just enough of a tan line to prove to people that you've actually tanned, but small enough that you could hide them if you wanted to.

Here are the ones I'm OBSESSED with right now.  It's unfortunately become a theme with the cool swimsuit brands to charge more money for less fabric...so I'm going to have to think long and hard about which one I'm going to get given the investment.  These bikinis are pretty simple in style though, so I have a feeling they'll be in style for a long time (read: maybe worth the investment?!?).

I've been a fan of Minimale Animale from the get-go and they continue to come out with more risqué suits every season.  I love this super simple bikini.  Here's the top and bottom.

Minimale Animale

If you're looking for something a little sportier, here's one from the brand Kovey.  I do still love how simple the suit is.  With a sportier top, you could choose a skimpier bottom.

Kovey

I love the tops with the cut outs.  Blue Life has a really cute white suit that I can't stop thinking about. Here's the top and bottom.

Blue Life

Want something more affordable?  Victoria's Secret, as always, has you covered.  Or in this case, exposed. Haha.  Sorry.  Here's my pick.  I like the sexiness that the shimmery fabric adds.

Victoria's Secret

Embrace your body and go mini with your bikini!  While I don't have an ideal "bikini body" I'm certainly going to try to leave that standard behind this beach season and rock what I have with confidence.  There are SO MANY types of swimsuits out there.  Take your time and find one that you feel great in.  Happy shopping!

Ogle to Own! Farfetch Sale

Have something fancy you've been eyeing?  Take a spin around Farfetch.com and see if it happens to be on sale!

If it's on sale, use code xx20june15 for an extra 20% off.  Here are some of my picks from the sale.

If you've been wanting something from the Valentino Rockstud collection, here's your chance.  After the discount it's a little over $1,500.

If you've been wanting a new sneaker that's not a Vans slip on (because those are all the rage right now), pick up this adorable pair from Sophia Webster.  I saw these in person recently and really regret not getting them.  I LOVE THE UNICORNS!  Less than $100.  BAM.

Wanting to change up your work wardrobe or rock pants to an upcoming wedding?  These trousers by Fleur Du Mal are awesome at $294.  For work, they can be paired with a simple blouse, but be bold for a wedding and choose a fun crop top and some big earrings!

Speaking of fun earrings, there's a great selection of luxe costume jewelry in this sale too.  I loved all the Moschino bear stuff this past season (must be after that time I regretted not getting the Charlotte Olympia Gummi Bear clutch...) and now the earrings are on sale for $185.60.
I've been loving multi-prints lately, and here's a dress I want RIGHT NOW by Philosophy for a little over $450.

Some of these things are definitely a departure from my usual color palette, so here are my favorite black and white pieces.

Happy shopping!!  Oh and Happy Father's Day :)
