Ogle: Bijules

Accessorizing is a task that, I think, requires a tasteful eye and a sense of self control.  I always want to have something that is unique, but I have to be careful not to overdo it.  Accessories also serve as a great way to bring new life to old outfits or make something boring into something really fun and different.  All that considered, I think that Bijules could probably breathe life into any outfit that you had...that and make it a little more gritty and tough.  This a brand that I have seen before on the web (via images of Beyonce and her rad fashions), but I recently saw it resurface and I do still love it.  For my style, I think that some of the pieces might be a little too intense from me, but that doesn't mean that I want to gawk and stare at them any less.  Here are some really awesome pieces that I wish I had the balls to wear:
Nailring- not a ring, but a little coverlet for your nail that fits over just the top of your finger

eartip- a piece worn at the top of your ear, right behind it.  Hard to explain, but if you click on the link it will show you an example

Shattered Dreams- a little dark for my taste, but a very interesting and uniquely dark necklace

So, not quite my speed, but definitely pieces that are very unique and push you to re-examine the way that you look and jewelry and wear it.  If I take the plunge down this accessories' lane, I'll test drive the nailring.  I LOVE cool nails and this seems to be a cool way to keep nails interesting.

Own: Kwiat to Support Charity: Water

This has definitely been the year of bracelets and looking for the right one has been something that has boggled the mind.  Cruising around on outblush.com, I saw something that really caught my eye- Kwiat.

This brand is definitely not a new brand to me, but it's usually a brand that wouldn't fall in the "own" category at all.  Unless it came to you as, say, an engagement ring.  HOWEVER, Kwiat has partnered with Charity: water, which makes this purchase even easier at a price point of $100 in which 100% of the proceeds go towards the charity.  Be a good Samaritan today and make a donation and buy a little something sparkly for yourself.

Totally Ownable: Random from all over

Living in NY, it's really easy to sometimes get carried away by labels, but I have to always remember that great fashion can be born anywhere and it's really all about how you rock it.  Recently, I've seen some awesome things from brands that I don't usually shop.  These things are pieces that I could easily see becoming part of my "staple" wardrobe.

What I identify as a "staple" usually has the following qualities:

1) Wearability- I can wear it every day with many things and it never looks out of place
2) Durability- I can try my darnedest to destroy it but it will keep coming back and every time I look at it, it looks more amazing with that new scratch or knick.
3) Timelessness- It's not something crazy.  It's not something too colorful.  It's something simple, yet unique enough that it says something about me.  It's something that I can see myself loving for years to come.

Usually, I wouldn't mind spending more money on these said "staples," but why do that when you can find some of these things on the cheap??  Here are some things that can very easily become mine forever:

Need a new handbag for the fall??  This one is pretty much as perfect as it gets.  Only $125.

An awesome skirt from the Gap to take me into fall.  Scoop this up for $39.95.

Delman makes amazing flats for a premium price, but why spend those bucks when you can get the J.Crew version which is just as cute and just as comfortable?

Don't forget sale sections!!  Asos.com is having a great sale right now and you can get that staple chambray shirt shirt for under $50.

As you can tell, I'm clearly getting into that fall state of mind...but the seasons creep up on you!  If there's anyone that excited about fall clothing, it's definitely me.  It's that time of year where you can start to play with layers and textures in your style and make something seemingly boring into something that's fresh and new by mixing and matching.  Use these cheap items to mix into your wardrobe with your expensive ones.  Chances are that people won't be able to tell anyway.

Obsess: Pierre Hardy

Usually, unique jewelry is what catches my eyes.  Don't get me wrong, though- handbags and shoes are just as heavenly, but it takes a real gem of an accessory to make me turn around and think twice about it.  I go into super-obsessed mode when I do find something that I think is truly special.  So, Pierre Hardy had actually never been a brand that had really even crossed my radar due to the price point, but I have a good friend that works at their West Village store and she finally got me to go in and peruse the beautiful footwear.

The store is like a modern museum of dainty and sparkly kicks that just cry out to you to buy them as soon as you walk into the store.  Something that I love about the space is that it provides a semi private shopping experience.  Living in New York City, any time you shop, you're opening yourself up to the unwanted opinions pf talkative Manhattanites.  Everyone here likes to put in their two cents.  Pierre Hardy tries to deflect those unwanted opinions by offering translucent panels in between their seats so you can try your shoes on in peace.

Beyond the more private shopping experience, the shoes actually speak for themselves.  They are well fitted and extremely comfortable.  I'm a girl of many pumps and the ones that I bought from Pierre Hardy that day have caused no blusters or foot cramps.  A miracle in shoe design!  Here are the two amazing pairs that I bought:

These actually came in a black suede/leather and that's what I bought, though I think this color combo is so dainty and pretty.  These are about a 3.5in heel and they make my legs look so sexy.  The fashion girl's fitflop :)

Ah, the quintessential summer wedge.  A must have.  I LOVE these.

Visit the shop and see everything for yourself.

Obsess to the Max: Mociun Jewelry

My favorite kind of jewelry is the kind that is completely wearable every day and eventually becomes something that people associate with you.  For me that has become tiny groups of rings and delicate necklaces.  The jewelry that I wear are like trinkets and bits of my life that I've just collected.  Because I love them (and partially because I'm lazy) I wear them all the time.  It's no surprise then that I'm completely and utterly obsessed with Mociun's jewelry line.  Walking around in Williamsburg one day, I discovered this adorable jewelry brand in the Jumelle on Bedford ave.  They do a lot of amazing work that integrates turquoise which is something I haven't really seen done tastefully until now.  here are some of my favorites:

Two sided ring <3

Beautiful!!!

I love these beautifully mismatched earrings

Another really unique and lovely wedding band option
Love it.
